British Sugar at Kidderminster

Since about 1975 the huge twin silos of the British Sugar factory in Kidderminster have dominated the skyline, viewable from Malvern some 30 miles away. In February 2002 the factory came to a close partly believed to be the knock effect of cheap imports under a EU directive. Kidderminster was one of twelve factories around the Uk that closed leaving British Sugar to concentrate on its remaining six factories.
