Beachy Head

Beachy Head in West Sussex

Beachy Head is 162 meters (530 ft) above sea level and is the highest chalk sea in Britain. It was formed 65 million years ago during the cretaceous period. There is a darker side to Beachy Head in that its famous for its suicides. A regular patrol of the cliff edge is conducted by the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team as on average 20 people a year choose to fall to there death.
